Thakur Baldev Singh of Sholay and philanthropist Sanjeev Kumar was born as Harihar Jethalal Jhariwala also known as Haribhai on 9 th July, 1938 in Surat. He started as a stage actor debuted from the play Damru. His debut film was Hum Hindustani, 1960 but Nishan as a lead debut, 1960. He remained bachelor and died of heart attack on 6 th Nov, 1985 at the age of 47. He won two national awards for his films Koshish and Dastak and many other filmfares and other awards like BFJA, Andhra Pradesh film journalist awards etc. There is an NGO Sanjeev Kumar Foundation and SKAAP has been established.
